How to Get a Library Card

Persons who reside or own real estate within the city limits of Carthage may obtain a library card at no charge.

Other Jasper County residents may obtain a library card upon payment of an annual $20.00 nonresident fee.
The nonresident fee covers all household members, and each member that is 6 years of age or older may apply
for a library card.

To apply for a library card, you must show proof of address (driver's license, utility bill, rent receipt, insurance
card, voter registration card, etc.) and provide two local contacts. Contacts may include an employer, friend,
relative, neighbor, etc. Contacts must reside at a different address than the applicant and may not live with each
other.

New patrons may borrow two materials at a time for the first 30 days.

Applicants under the age of 15 must have a parent or guardian sign the application in the presence of library staff.
